SLAM/TESS, The Extended Simulation Software System, introduces a wholenew generation of simulation support software. It is a comprehensive andintegrated software package that contains all the components needed whenusing simulation to evaluate and improve new system designs and existingoperations. With SLAM/TESS, users can predict how change will affectthe operation. Within one software system SLAM/TESS integrates all theactivities associated with a simulation project, including modeldevelopment, analysis and presentation of results.Support for virtually all aspects of a simulation project is supplied bySLAM/TESS, reducing the amount of computer technical work required andautomating many functions that were previously done by hand. SLAM/TESSdeals with a simulation project as a set of activities which must beperformed. SLAM/TESS then provides extensive capabilities in each area,and the mechanism for linking these components together. SLAM/TESSincludes a simulation language interface, a database manager, andgraphics capabilities.
